“If you have an upcoming project that requires creative and artistic input, feel free to contact me to discuss ideas…” – Lorna Dorothy BA(Hons)
About Lorna Dorothy
Some years ago I returned to college as a mature student (in my twenties – yes I was still considered to be a mature student!) to learn a whole new trade as a painter and decorator. At the time it was a rather unusual career choice for a woman but as a lone female in a male dominated industry, this worked to my advantage. Once fully qualified, it quickly became clear that many people preferred to employ a woman and I enjoyed this career for around 10 years. Eventually I found myself yearning for more creative input and ready for a new challenge. So back to college I went (now in my thirties- practically an antique student by college standards… though most of the class were actually older than me) and this time studied Art and Design for two years, swiftly following this with another three years full time study to achieve my BA Fine Art Honours Degree from the Cambridge School of Art in the UK. My graduation was nine years ago and since then I have worked on a variety of creative projects, helped to organise art events, designed bespoke visual merchandising and even opened my own pop up art gallery!
Currently, I am creating fine art pieces and revamping old furniture with all of my work available for sale. In addition, plans are taking shape to run creative art classes and furniture revival classes in the South Cambs/North Herts area, which I aim to start in early 2018 – contact me to find out more and register your interest.
